Triplanar Triplanar did not have a room of its own, but were seen being partnered with some very impressive turntables, in some of the best-sounding analogue setups. Personally, I think that the Triplanar MK VII () tonearm must be one of the coolest-looking tonearms out there! Apart from its renowned ability to adjust VTA on the fly, it also boasts among the most number of adjustable parameters, all in minute and repeatable increments! This is without a doubt, a true tweaker’s dream! Is it any wonder that I dream of owning it one day? Zanden As for Zanden, well what can I say – except that their lineup is what dreams are made of! From the Model 2000P CD transport and Model 5000 Signature DAC, Model 1200 tube phono stage, Model 3000 line preamp right down to the Model 9500 MK III tube monoblocks, they were all about the use of selected and tightly matched exotic components, meticulous craftsmanship and gleaming mirror-finish stainless steel exuding class and glamour. By the way, the sound quality was pretty good too!
Obviously such equipment was not made for everyone, but only for those fortunate few who can afford and appreciate them. Similar to last year, I will leave you with a montage of some of the more interesting turntables and tonearms that were demonstrated during the show. Have fun…. |
