The Borromeo is our
reference Uni Pivot tone arm. It is made of super rigid and very light
alloy. Its length and shaft diameter are Rega standard.
It has got a hydraulic arm lift, on board arm layer, a manual anti-skating
and a double VTA adjustment. The Borromeo sound is the most open,
fast and natural of all our tone arms. The powerful of the bass is
quite incredible considering the delicacy of details can be obtained.
The sound reproduced is full and rich, super open with a great bass
response. This unipivoted tone arm has one of the best Pivot Tower
ever made. The shape of the Tower is semi conic, rounded on all its
edges and it is made of brass with an internal "shirt" of
bronze.
These two materials are the best for it's proposed use and the shape
(very important), even if it hard to manufacture, is the best one
for balancing it's mass, rendering the tone arm's tracking ability
to be superior to any others we know of. On the top of the Pivot Tower
there is as mall bronze screw, which allows users to finely adjust
the VTA, even positioning the tone arm directly on the vinyl record.
The polished brass counterweight is positioned under the arm tube
line to increase stability. Also it has a double weight, one of them
is out of axis allowing for perfect azimuth's adjustment and to fix
the counterweight precisely at the needed position. The arm tube is
a polished, very hard and thin, aluminum alloy to guarantee structural
rigidity at its best.
The totally made polished brass lift is hydraulic and even if it is
specifically designed for our tone arms it can be fit on many other
being completely adjustable. The anti-skating system is manual and
it can be finely adjusted by moving a small weight. |
