Partly in response to consumer feedback for
a more compact horn speaker, Avantgarde have done the near impossible
and actually introduced a small full-range horn speaker that actually
works!
 The speaker is a dual
concentric design with the tweeter located snugly in the center of
the 12 in. woofer and utilizing their famed front mounted circular
horns. The speaker itself is mounted on attractive purpose-designed
stands to raise it to the proper height.
One unique aspect of the SOLO is the active circuitry used to equalize
the frequency response of the speaker to enable it to play full range
without the aid of an external subwoofer. It also offers the consumer
the option of using it in a normal system set-up driven by any power
amplifier, or being connected directly in an active mode to any preamp
or surround processor.
Sold singly or in pairs, the all new SOLO is designed for both small
room audio applications and high-end home theatre set-ups. Just visualize
this - five pieces of SOLO horn speakers directly connected to a surround
processor with no ugly or space-consuming power amplifiers in sight!
The Avantgarde SOLO comes with matching stands and a choice of colours for
the horns. Wall mounting brackets are also available for surround speaker
applications.
