Ever since our last newsletter, there have been lots of exciting new developments within the range of products that we represent, including the introduction of some interesting new models. The following is just the first part of our extensive product update.
Product Update

• Shunyata Research

 Audio Note

The most outstanding new product to be introduced during the show CES 2003 was their new M-2 Balanced tube preamp. Housed in the larger M-3 type chassis, it features transformer-coupled balanced inputs and outputs, dual-mono tube rectified and chock regulated power supply, and full function wireless remote control.

Price is estimated to be around US$3000 a set, and the first units are due to released by end April. So get ready to queue for one, because stocks are going to be limited as production is almost totally by hand assembly.

 Nottingham Analogue

Most of you are by now familiar with well-known models like the Spacedeck and Hyper Spacedeck. Now get ready for the Horizon, the latest in an illustrious line of top-rated turntables. The Horizon is positioned as their entry-level model and comes standard with the highly rated Rega RB-250 tone arm. Though only priced at an extremely affordable S$1650 for both turntable and tone arm, it is by no means an entry-level design.

For example, it shares the high quality, high mass same platter as the Spacedeck, and even the design is actually a simplified version of their top model Annalog table (priced at more than $18,000)! The first shipment of Horizon should be in by the time you read this, so don’t waste too much time procrastinating or you won’t find any left by the time you drop by our showroom.

 Solid Tech

Hard on the heels of the Feet Of Silence, their most successful product to date, comes the new Disc Of Silence. Sold in either sets of three or four, these isolation devices are basically simplified version of the ‘Feet’, but using steel springs instead of silicones bands for the resonance absorption.

Because of their height adjustment feature, the low-profile Disc of Silence can be used in situations where there is little headroom, or even for CD player/transports with uneven bases.

Priced at S$280 for a set of 3 or S$350 for a set of 4, these marvelous suspension-based isolation devices are guaranteed to transform the sound of whatever system you own! You are also encouraged to bring along whatever isolation devices you already own, regardless of price, for an A/B comparison.

 Shunyata Research

We are very excited to announce that we have been appointed the official distributor for Shunyata Research. Shunyata (formerly called Power Snakes) is, we feel, the most innovative company specializing in power cords and line conditioners to have come onto the audio scene in recent memory.

Caelin Gabriel, the founder and designer of Shunyata Research products, is a specialist in quantum physics who spent ten years developing signal acquisition devices for the National Security Agency in the United States. There is no one within the music or audio industry that has his textbook knowledge of power supplies, signal isolation and Electro Magnetic Field effects.

A number of the world’s top studio’s and recording artists like Doug Sax and James Guthrie use Shunyata products as part of the reference recording system used to re-master the music industry’s most renowned artists.

Shunyata Research product’s high-current capability, among other things, has also attracted many of the A/V industry’s foremost manufacturers and distributors to use Shunyata’s system of products for design, trade-shows and listening. For example, Shunyata products and power conditioners were used throughout 24 system exhibits at CES 2002. This year, I again did not see any other brand of power conditioners being used as prominently as Shunyata by many of the top audio manufacturers in the world at CES 2003!
